Stay N' Play
4-Bedroom House on Pigeon Creek
sleeps up to 10 people
270 Pigeon Creek Road in Janetville, Ontario is a bright, lovely chalet, with a roofed balcony. It is nestled within an 8-acre forested property that surrounds a running pond with a damn that was used to operate the first mill in town in the late 1800s. This property belonged to the Burn Family from 1860 until 2019. The history of the Burn Family is captured in photographs that are beautifully displayed in this home.
When you visit this property, you are welcomed by the sounds of nature, the running water, the birds, and other wildlife that run through the forest. One is immediately immersed in its beauty and peacefulness. You and your guests can enjoy a lazy day sitting by the pond, paddling, lying in a hammock, having a drink in the hot tub or relaxing on the patio. Sometimes a few surprises show up, a visit from the family of geese that make their home here, wild turkeys crossing, and playful sounds of the family of otters swimming in the pond. If you can, bring your binoculars when you stay here because there are many birds that come to feed or drink, who perform concerts of songs that play against the musical background of the running pond water. You can enjoy an easy stroll, practice yoga on one of the clearing lush green and wide open, rock yourself on the tree swing, or paddle the pond on the yellow paddle boat provided, so bring along your life jackets.
Comfort, Charm & Meaningful Moments
Once inside, the history of the space captures you. The memorabilia that carpet the walls tell the stories of this property’s past. The furniture that has been repurposed or reupholstered allow one to feel there is a purpose and meaning to life. Some have been hand-made by original owners from the wood that has been carved from its forest. There are lots of games to play and real family downtime to relax, rejuvenate and re-energize. Those who have stayed say that they have never slept better than when they were here. In the evenings, you can make a fire and play your guitar, sing songs and roast marshmallows around the fire pit. If you insist on your social media access, WIFI is provided. Whether you want to just relax or play in nature, or enjoy golf at Wolfrun Golf Club, just a few minutes away, this is the place to visit and stay for several days or make it a week or two, you will not be disappointed and will want to come back again and again.
